Such is the pain and masochism that goes along with games like this. While WoW has loot table for each boss, the rewards are still random and not guaranteed.
I never completed my tier 1 raid set on either of my two 60s in 2004/2005. The pieces I was missing were a belt and bracers, which dropped randomly from the trash mobs. So it was even more frustrating. They were tradable/BOE but I could never afford them in the Auction House.
Imagine your frustration of not being able to complete your set when it's 8 pieces instead of 3-4. WoW's weapons, trinkets and rings were also a pain to get. If not more so than the raid gear.

Edited by mJORG77: 11/7/2014 1:19:46 AMi have grinded more, i was a competitive pokemon player, it took more than 70-80 hours to aquire the nature-ivs-eggmoves you wanted on a pokemon and to ev train it, not to mention trying to find shiny legenaries or starters, but at least i didnt have to wait a -blam!-ing week to try again . i didnt need to find a team of 5 people who are not retarded to help me with it and it was nowhere close as hard as the hard raid to do
