If there was matchmaking there wouldn't be any teamwork and lower lvls would want to be carried bad idea

How is it any different than going on Destinylfg and trying to match up with random people? We all start out as noobs.

Also, I wouldn't force matchmaking on folks that already have a regular raiding party
