just keep repeating the first story on the moon. warning you will annoyed of the ( we woken the hive ) so mute your tv. do it for about 30 minutes and you will level up.

Thx Grim, that worked quite well. Am lvl 12 now. Will do another run tomorrow morning. I did also some patrolling on the moon, but didnt get any nice drops unfortunately. I got some gear when killing the hive guys, so it was a good evening for me eventually. :-) Still waiting for a good scout rifle to drop, though. :-(

You can earn reputation at any time to level up vanguard however you do not earn marks which is the curenncy used to buy said weapons and armor.

Atm I am doing strikes every day (just 1 or 2) to get the marks as well. Dont have that much time during the week to play Destiny. So it aint going that fast, but I will get there eventually. Lvl 22 at the moment, so I can play harder strikes. Got my first purple weapon, unfortunately its a hand cannon ('The devils knows it' or so) which I wont use.

once you get to level 20 rank up your vanguard to Lv3. save vanguard points and buy the shadow price autorifle. its 150 vanguard points but worth it. It has nice range and impact and you will love it.

Lol, I just wanted to post here asking what a good rifle would be... I am now adventuring with a scout rifle, but I will try to get the rifle you suggest once I am lvl 20. Another noob question, how do I earn Vanguard points? Tonight I will try to get some gold chests on earth and will try to do dragon's lair strike.

you earn the loins via Bounties. you turn 'em in to the bounty tracker or when you are in patrol mode. when you go and check on the tracker be sure to always watch out for the 6 patrol missions bounty.

Yeah, I do the 6 patrol missions when it pops up. Last time I had that bounty together with the 100 kills without dying and the 200 skirmish thingies. I read somewhere that you can rank up as of lvl 18 or so. So at the moment I wont be able rank up my Vanguard level.

once you get to Lv 20 you'll be able to increase your vanguard I suggest you try doing the vanguard strike playlist.

Cheers Grim for another useful tip! I am able to do the strike playlist as of now (level 18), but it would be better to wait until lvl 20? Or shall I try them with my current level as well?

I'd say wait so that you could run through the first vanguard strikes. the one that's Lv 18 and then save the points and buy the vanguard legendary boots first. there cheap for only 65 vanguard points and so are the chest piece and Gauntlents. the Helm is the one that cost 120 so buy that last.
