I posted ages ago when the DLC was supposedly leaked and what a complete joke it was! Most of the fan-boys went mental to defend the practice of DLC with its "just content markers" or "there is more content" or "I'm a broke ass/ self entitled whiner" lol. now we have details on the content its even less than originally thought... 1. $20/£19.99 Standalone $34.99/£34.99 Season Pass 2. Light Cap: Lvl 32 3. New Armor and Weapons 4. 5 New Bounty Slots 5. new character Eris in story mode, with 3 new missions 6. New Strike: The Will of Crota 7. New Raid: Crota's End 8. New PvP Maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, The Cauldron 9*. Exclusive Strike for Playstation: The Undying Mind Out December 9, 2014 Personally this is joke and complete rip off I want new planets with content and space battles, new gameplay ideas etc. I have seen so many good ideas on the forums yet they release this garbage! Edit 1- I don't care about other games, my point is DLC in general is a rip off and only encourages publishers to release half finished games and shoddy DLC! Edit 2 - Perspective... you brought Destiny for likely £40 probably more. You got 20+ story missions, 4/5 strikes, raid and all the rest. Your gonna pay half that for 3 story's 1 raid 1 strike and rest.... COME ON WAKE UP Edit 3 - WOW so much hate! As consumers you should expect more, defending DLC seriously ? "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it" Edit 4 - I'm from the UK so for our American friends £20 = $32, £35 = $56. To be more clear as some people are confused in America you can buy both DLC packs for $35 which is about £22. in the UK we would effectively be paying $56 for the same content Edit 5 - Loads of response and great feedback and only a few idiots posting :) as it stands - Yes is winning by about 100 votes which is surprising as the general consensus from the comments is more in favour of no and disappointment, however UK gamers are clearly far more pissed at the price and rightly so. - Huge amount of people already purchased the DLC happy at 450 votes with 230 people unhappy they already bought DLC. - Also 177 people sat on the fence undecided Edit 6 - Great response well over 3k votes! as it stands on 31st at 10 am in order of the poll.. Y=795 N=572 Und=383 DontC=105 (lol why vote then) have SP happy = 1010! have SP Angry = 469 Edit 7 - IMO the content is disgraceful for the price. I think the game lacks content already and is highly repetitive for no good reason. Alot of people justify the cost by the time spent on the game, to me its irrelevant its quality not quantity. Yes you spent 100 hours in game but half of that was doing the same stuff over and over and over etc. lots of people justify the price by comparing to other costs cinema/food etc again i don't agree its comparable for example i could buy a music album and listen to that for the next 40 years! DLC is way for publishers to milk money from consumers and its unsettling how many people actually don't care and worse even defend the practice! Only way to change this is to vote with your wallet! If consumers didn't buy DLC publishers would hit the panic button and actually think twice before they release games and DLC that would actually be worth a purchase. For the price of £35 i can buy another game and will do so.

  • I guess it's worth it to me because I'm actually enjoying the game. I've played plenty of mmos over the past few years, so seeing what's bring given for dlc is acceptable. It's not a full expansion pack, so maybe it's a little bit overpriced, but not enough for me to get mad at.

  • I'm going to get the DLC because I like the game and I want more to play. I just like the gear hunt, even when I get the same stuff over and over again I am just waiting for that small chance to find that new gun or armor I don't already have

  • hi uk player here, yes to dlc why simply put despite the story content( or lack of) I still see destiny as a marathon not a sprint. I understand your argument but for me I will continue to support the game for the one reason because I enjoy playing destiny...

    • I'm going to because it's a new raid. And some new stuff to do. In most sub based games it would go as just a patch, but in a game that's not sub based, it is at a cost, I understand the reason for that. Also 5 new bounty slots will hit whether you get dlc or not.

    • im a xbox user.... i have the DLC..... you ask am i mad? (because i have to wait a year for full DLC)..... no i am not mad..... because i didn't pay for it.... i got it free....i also got the game for free..... i do not hate this game because i only have half a game..... i hate this game because every patch bungie puts into this game causes 10x more bugs then there were before...... and they make baby bumpers a priority over all the other bugs in the game.....

    • I already have the season pass but I'm pretty pissed. I have to wait an entire year for the PS Exclusive content that's on disc (Monte Carlo, Hawkmoon, and Strike), in The Dark Below (Exotic and Strike), and I'm assuming House of Wolves (Exotic and Strike I'm guessing). I think it's bullshit that I am paying toget that stuff NOW but it will be "free" later. Uh, it's not free. I paid for it. I think it's a huge middle finger to Xbox gamers as a whole. But don't worry, Destiny. I'm playing Sunset Overdrive now and having a blast. Next week, I'll be playing CoD: AW. And the week after that, Halo MCC. A month after that, Halo 5 Beta. Month after that ends, Evolve. After that, BF Hardline. Yeeeah, you're gonna be on the shelf for a while.

    • I will admit that I never believed the argument that companies are releasing half a game to sell it in the form of DLC. Destiny has made me a believer. It was obviously not a complete game.

      • What do you guys expect for $20? You'll pay $20 for 4 new CoD maps but not for 2 new strike 3 new PvP maps, 1 new raid, 3 new story missions, new gear, new weapons, new bounties? The single new raid alone is worth $20 IMO. you will not find another game for $35 that will compare to even just two new raids by the end of the Destiny EP... TWGS - Take With a Grain of Salt...

        • I already pre-ordered, but I'm disappointed and wouldn't have done so if I had known the details. It's not so much the price as the experience. I don't care about PvP, or the story, after playing the base game. I work odd hours and live halfway around the world from my busy friends, so getting a raid in has proved tough; it's not the same playing with random people online. The people I know who play Destiny aren't getting the DLC and have largely moved on from the title. I might run the Raid once or twice if I can find a party in the same time zone. So, it's two strikes in old locations. Nothing to explore. No new enemies. I have put in a ton of hours thus far into the game, but my interest has declined sharply as I've come more and more to realise that I'm grinding in the hopes of better gear, but there isn't really any more content for which I want to use that gear. Two more strikes isn't a whole lot more to look forward to. I guess this is my complaint with Destiny: it asks you to repeat a lot, but doesn't really give you that much to repeat. I've run the strikes tens of times each at this point, and I'm still in the 'grind for more gear' stage. Destiny feels sort of hollow. The promise of significant, actual 'expansion packs' kept me grinding far past when it was enjoyable. If this is the sort of thing Bungie means by more content, I'll pass.

        • Yep I enjoy the game and have friends I play with constantly who will also be buying it. I don't see it as a ripoff. $20 dollars is a good price and I'm not broke. I've seen less sold for more.

          • Here is my opinion. I paid for the whole game, but Because I work full time and have a family and only a couple friends that play video games. I can't nor ever will I be able to raid. I'm stuck at lvl 29 for eternity. All of the gear and weapons in the dlc are raid gear which I won't be able to get. The PvP maps I'll never play, because in PvP you get molested by people with raid gear (yea it's normalized but upgrades and perks still wreck). So basically I would pay again to only be able to play a portion of what I pay for. This is turning out to be valuable to only hardcore gamers under the age of 17.

            • No, I'm not buying it because they are leaving out yet another thing for xbox users that has a little bit of story I can understand yes Sony paid a little extra but really you make story exclusive that's not cool I would buy it if they only got more weapons and the multiplayer maps idc cause its not like we are playing against each other.

            • I have season pass, but am neither happy or sad. I will pass judgement when i try it. for example. the missions from earth to moon. excellent, great music, hectic, tripmines, enemies on vehicles, building my class getting powers, the sword of crota cool. then venus....pretty same-ish , mars -pretty same-ish. strikes were cool for the first play through. a proper hard giant megga boss (particularly summoning pits) i wanted this. and the raid was mind=blown at the time. but the quality past the moon dipped, so this is why im waiting. i want to see what the DLC is like and judge the quality not the quantity of extras. The thing i am MOST DISSPAOINTED WITH: these whole DLC planned before game release, means the first few DLCs will be very similar to the original game, so all the good ideas people are putting out on how to mix it up and make it better cant be introduced until around the third DLC by which time you either have cracked it already or lost all but the diehards. And yet the season pass only gets me the first 2 DLCs that were pre-planned and could very well not benefit from many of the good suggestions and improvements that people have mentioned.

            • Yes, I will be purchasing because destiny serves as a great escape from reality for me. Not that I have a shitty life but working long hours, dealing with my overly emotional fianceè I must say getting online and playing Pvp or pve with friends and family is a blast. Is the dlc overpriced? Perhaps. Do I care? No. $20 each is nothing. I wasted more than that on stupid ass mgs prequel game lol. If you enjoy the game then enjoy it. If not take it back and buy something you will enjoy. It's that simple. You aren't obligated to keep playing something you "hate" or feel ripped off about. It's life. Get over it. It's too short.
