It would be more understandable if this were the case, but Destiny was in production way before the Xbone and PS4 was announced even to developers. What the current gen actually recieved was a graphically upgraded port.

  • Nope, PS4 started development in 2008. They would have had a very good idea of the power they were aiming for and passed this to developers to work with. Also Bungie were the first company to be given access to the DS4. Bungie would have spent the vast proportion of their time building their development tools.

  • Yes, but just because development started in 2008 doesn't mean that they had a 100% stance that that's the exact hardware and OS that the systems would be running at launch, as is the case with Destiny things are subject to change. This is why Developers get dev kits. The earliest Sony and MS would have given developers hardware is 1 to 2 years prior to launch to insure developers had decent games running games one thier sytems by launch.
