I think void damage and more shots would be perfect. Void damage is kind of a sidewise buff, and only makes it stronger in pve and even then only specific instances. Maybe 2-3 more bursts, which would allow you to actually kill things other then shanks and dregs so the reload perk had a purpose.

It had void but they removed it on final release
