Absolutely. I'm pretty sure Bungie has come out and said many of the things from Halo were influenced by the Alien movies. Also, James Cameron has also stated that many things from Halo were inspired by concepts from the Alien movies.
If I remember correctly, there was a bit of a concern by Halo fans when Avatar came out because many of the vehicles looked like they were from Halo.

I almost forgot about the similarity of vehicles in Avatar. But if Bungie was ever going to take inspiration from aliens, they did a good job picking the Alien and Predator.
