The side quests would have to be meaningful enough. You would have to gain something for them to be worthwhile otherwise most people would bypass them anyways.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Like, maybe at the end of the strike, on the rewards page, it would give you extra items if you completed all the side missions. Just brainstorming, really.
