If the actual engrams dropped and you did not pick them up then the rare engrams will be waiting for you at the Postmaster. The uncommon green engram will not. Although, you should be able to walk through the cabal and pick up the engrams either way. More than likely ammo drops or other effects made it appear as if an engram had dropped.

I am saying I did walk through the cabal bodies and didn't get anything, and nothing was waiting for me back at the tower. I wouldn't report a false problem. I trust that you can trust me when I say I tried walking through them. When I see engrams fall I usually go and get them right away, since I do get kicked from servers quit often. In every situation that there is an engram on the ground and I get kicked that item doesn't show up at the postmaster back at the tower either. I can't begin to tell you how mad I have gotten over this before. Seeing a exotic engram, running towards it, and getting kicked just as I was about to reach it really sucked. So many blues and a couple purples too.
