Add Matchmaking for Raids, Nightfall and Heroic Strikes please
It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle.
The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes.
While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny.
Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards.
With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

1 ReplyHonestly, I used to be on your camp. I hated not having matchmaking for even the weekly. I have since switched to Bungie's side. Why? There are really just three reasons. 1. Since they have put matchmaking into the weekly, I think I've played maybe [i]two[/i] matches without an AFKer, I shouldn't be forced into carrying people (and somehow, they are the ones who always get the exotics...). 2. I know exactly who and what I'm getting, there are no surprises. 3. I've met some pretty cool people on LFG and we've gone on to form raid groups and trials groups, we've come to know each others strategies and are more effective then any random group. I wouldn't say friends, but they are people I can have a good time with. I can't remember the last time randoms even had a mic in.

Why is matchmaking any different?!? Why do people argue with it?!? Matchmaking is basically an automatic way of finding a team while the forums and recruitment tab is the manual way. It's an added flaw that has no place in an MMO

They can't match make raids. Coz if the matching system can't match enough players the the vault won't be doable. The whole point of raids is that you login to the community and find a crew. Why change it now coz your too lazy to put out a post.

I know this is an old post, but some issues still are valid. If matchmaking truly could group players with similar styles and goals (ex:hyper-speed strikers separate from ones who want to play the strike) than okay as long as it is optional. Optional being the key word.

Though this thread is old, it makes a valid point. People want Matchmaking for all aspects of the game.

Only way it would work is if they made it so you can search for a game with MM or shut MM off.
