I see a lot of posts here, including this one, talking about "the community" in a way that implicitly refers to the people who post here on this forum. I think, in order to be reasonable, we need to get away from this fallacy that the group of people who post on this forum are in any way representative of the Destiny-playing community as a whole. At the risk of sounding overly academic, this forum is what James Madison would have called a "minority faction," defined as "a number of citizens...who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community".
Most people who play Destiny are not like the people who post here, and in fact would never even consider the possibility of posting here. Many of them are not aware that this forum exists. You can call them "casuals" in a diminutive way if you want, though some of you would more open-mindedly call them "adults with families and careers." Like it or not, there are lots of these people and they are no less important than you. They also don't have a Vex Mythoclast yet and most of them never will. For the sake of the game's lifespan, Bungie would be wise to maintain a broader perspective that includes those people, even if it means sometimes the most dedicated fans like all of you don't quite get your way.

Or...imagine the frusteration getting a powerful exotic. Going to work. Coming home and all the sudden it dorsnt work as good as it did or something changed then to find out overnight it got changed because of players crying about it. Which they never knew existed in the first place.

Edited by HodanNoEjiki: 10/16/2014 3:47:42 AMThe problem with this is how do you fathom what the silent majority wants, if they are silent. Like political struggles, those who do not vote do not get a say because they refuse to speak. I am a father of 2 toddlers, a devoted husband, and a gamer; yet I find time to play and reach out socially. To be honest what I have to say seems to be vastly over looked but I do not mind as I have used my right as a person and gamer to say it. Those who do not speak should not be over looked but cannot be given the benefit of the doubt because they seem to hold importance. Change comes from those who speak of atrocities not those who lay down and accept the world as it is. Though a video game is not something to be blown out of proportion like some world event, but this is our release from the world; to be rid of the stress of life and have fun. We need to speak out to preserve that even in a forum that may or may not be seen by those who control the situation.

Thank you. From the depths of my being, thank you.

However the vocal minority are the proverbial squeaky wheel. They are pretty much what's wrong with the western civilization of today. Hence why political correctness has ran rampant.
