Very well put. Great to see some rational research put into this post. It's a shame really, if many of these vacancies occurred before release, that it was not delayed a bit. That is one delay I think everyone would welcome. I absolutely loved the alpha, enough to pre-order asap. The beta still had some polish, but the release just did not quite feel like the game we were promised. I'm not complaining, and I haven't lost hope. It seems most of the rabblerousers are PVP-oriented, which doesn't bother me so long as the patches do not shake the PVE experience too much. I'm excited to see what the DLC brings to the universe, but based on your post, it just seems bungie is not currently equipped to handle the changes needed to make this game as legendary as we all want it to be. Here's hoping they can fix this before it really becomes an issue.

 •
I'm not complaining, and I haven't lost hope.
They're not mutually exclusive. :) Some aspects of this game really do deserve to be complained about, and I have no doubt that we'll see more of them arise, no design is flawless, and what sound good in the studio may look like a hot mess to the players. I just hope the folks that complain can put their feedback into some sort of context though. This post was a reminder for myself, as much as for everybody else, that we're really just at the beginning of this, and so is Bungie. They've come out a said that before, but it always sounded like spin until I looked at the careers page at thought about what it implies. I'm excited too.

 • I just rewatched the E3 2013 announcement for Destiny, and it looks and feels like a very different game. Of course it is allowed and expected to be, it was a full year and a half before release. But they made some lofty goals and promises that I really hope they live up to. Yes the maps are large, but there is still very little to do. I suspect the vacant jobs have played into that. Like I said, I'm in for the long haul, but I need to see more than weapon balancing and Loot Cave closings to keep me attracted through the biggest next-gen release period to date.
