Funny thing about RNG, it stands for RANDOM number generator. The odds of you getting an exotic item in your first mission are pretty low. Your odds of getting a random exotic drop at all are pretty low. The odds of you earning strange coins for missions can be 100%. Theortically, I could buy an exotic by playing just a couple of nightfalls. Comparatively, most people have played probably close to, if not more than a hundred missions and have to rely entirely on luck to get an exotic via drop.
I'm really not sure what your argument is here, that an infinitesimal amount of players get a lucky drop? Come on, buddy, that's how these games work. It's a game where sometimes grinding pays off more than "earning."

Only weekly heroic strike has a 100% of giving strange coins. Strange coins are earned through spending time. Exotic drops are unexpected drops that may happen randomly. You don't go buying a lottery ticket and expect to win then say you earned it because you spent "effort" getting millions while others are putting effort into what you just made from the lottery. In other words strange coins are like real world currency which needs to be earned through work and effort. Winning the lottery, just pure luck. No effort in winning a lottery, it's just random

Right, that's my point. No way is less "grinding" than the other though, some people just get lucky sooner or more frequently than others. However, after the OPs response I'm not sure what this thread's real purpose is. Some people will say you bought your weapon and didn't really "earn" it. So what? You know they're stupid, just ignore them!

I bought most of my exotics and people can't say I didn't earn them. I raised 3 different classes to have their own equipment to lvl 28 to complete weekly strikes. Raising one character to lvl 28 already takes some time but to raise 3 and of different classes requires a lot of time. I totally earned my exotics through strange coins. I've also done exotic bounties. I have to say, exotic bounties are easier to do than collecting enough strange coins by the end of the week for xur.

Oh no, that's not at all what I mean. I I'm just saying wrong for players who get a exotic drop or random exotic reward to say that "gamers that use strange coins for exotics, don't deserve them." My point is simply that no one is to say who deserves Or does not deserve an exotic item. I.e. The xur haters...
