What's "mainstream American fandom?"

I live around a huge asian population and if you shouted out that you liked SNK you would be shunned. It became really popular with many nonasian Americans.... It's kind of like when all girls fan over one direction even though there are plenty of bands. Or like being a super COD fan when there are great indie games

Asians r the biggest "fans" of anything. The way they flock to this and that pop icon, whether it's movies music or otherwise, is almost scary.
