The dreg lost their arms because they are lower class and can grow them back by showing their worth.

If that's true though why are they given firearms and trusted in battle?

They are given the weaker weapons and knives and sometimes they pick up their captains shrapnel rifle.

If they stealing other people's weapons then doesn't that just prove they aren't really on a path of redemption. An army of crippled convicts that still cannot keep their hands to themselves even after losing 2 arms is not a tactically or logistically effective combat force.

Bam. That's exactly what they are. An army of convicts and pirates and the houses are even divided. That's who the fallen are. Fallen are my favourite enemy type though, coolest looking and most aggressive at least to me.

They can't all be pirates. Who do they steal from, each other? Eventually they would run out of crap to fight over. If they are all space pirates who invents things? Who runs the factories that make all those identical uniforms and gloves? Why are they so shitty at ambushes? Pirates are supposed to utilize the art of surprise. Where are their parrots? Edit: the Fallen are hands down my favorite too

Honestly I wish I knew more as well the fallen have so much more potential to be a pivotal race since it's also the fact that they despise the darkness as well (hive and vex) we could potentially see a combination of guardians and at least two houses on your side verses the rest of the darkness. And those two houses being either the House of Winter and the House of Wolves(the queen being the Kell Leader)

Visually, the Fallen are way too cool to be the lesser enemies of the game. I hope in the future they actually ambush the player, use tactics and turn into the kind of formidable fighting force they should be. History wise I wish we could learn more about them. They would make badass allies.

There's an amazing grimoire card with Cayde-6 working with a female Captain fallen fighting an onslaught of Hive on the moon. The Fallen had enough energy and honor left to duke it out with Cayde-6 one last time before giving her pistol to him. Crazy amazing backstory and insight if Fallen will ever be an ally to us.

I actually like the Fallen more than the Elites from Halo. They are just horribly utilized in game. The Vex and Hive make a lot more sense as cannon fodder then do the Fallen.
