I got very lucky and recieved her legendary ship on one of my many solo attempts.
When I turn in a 100+ bounty with emblem,shader and ship equipped I now get 181xp and on a +50 bounty I get +90
This could be the ship boosting as I just got appox +10% before.

The ship doesn't give you a boost. I think Bungie changed the modifiers as the emblem and shader started giving me the same 81% boost then the class item made it +99% and I got to rank 3 today! Turns out there are a few small surprises: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/71515056/0/0/1

I've done dozens of solo missions, gotten countless armor pieces, four legendary snipers but still no ship...

One sniper for me. It's randomly generated too and mine is a BEAST so I want one of each element! And the ship.

I've gotten for snipers total, one of each element and to void ones.
