Brilliant thought: That would "fix" it, for PvP.

It would also make it one of the least powerful exotics and people would be using Icebreaker, Invective, Pocket Infinity and Plan C over it despite it being the only exotic that is limited to dropping off the final boss of hard mode. It was meant to be the best gun in the game and it isn't nearly as good as people make it out to be. It's right around SUROS and lego auto rifles in terms of TTK and is less accurate at range.

It makes sense. Out of all the other weapon types, it has the most in common with a heavy MG. Literally the only difference is that you have to pull the trigger for each bullet (I think).

It's not quite that good. Still ridiculous but it loses damage at range pretty quickly and is rather inaccurate.

Its horrible at ranges where scouts or hand cannons, even pulse rifles excel. The kickback is just brutal, have to keep hitting the stick down to balance it.
