I know what you mean. The pace becomes a tad too slow, even for grinding, after lvl 20. It's possible that this is to artificially extend the game length, spreading its limited ideas too thinly with the intention of keeping you involved. It replaces what should've been more robust content in the first place - content that was perhaps cut to get the game out in time and/or deferred to DLC

Yea. I plan on still sticking with it because as you suggested I too think it's an attempt to stretch the game out until expansion or some other content. We shall see soon enough.
