Level up your cryparch level. Farm glimmer to buy your ranks.
Also, I made an alt, and any engrams he finds I store, so my main can use them and have a better chance of getting rare loot.

I'm lvl 9 with Cryptard, and it doesn't work that way pal. I wish it was.

Um my crypt rank is 10. I got a Legy helm engram and guess what it wasn't? Lol and look at my character and what I need left
