Yeah, grinding the cryptarch. (sounds awful I know). Basic idea, you're actually grinding glimmer and trash engrams, buying green engrams from him, all to level him up. Each time he levels up he sends you a package with goodies in. My favoured spot is Shrine or Oryx mission, on Hard. Sprint down through most of it till you have just killed the Baron (for the checkpoint). It'll take you down and round some bits until you finally reach the entrance to the shrine. Once you're at this checkpoint, you can quit and restart from here indefinitely. So, 8 hallowed acolytes in a short 2 min section, then suicide off a ledge. You'll be drowning in silken codexes and wax idols to pop for more glimmer. Also, if you're feeling really slack, you can run down that far in easy, then quit, then resume from there on hard. If I've got 10 mins to kill, I'll just hammer that for a while and get a few thousand glimmer. The engrams you find will help level the crytarch dude, green trash just for some more cash, spend all the cash buying green engrams from him for more rep. Pretty mindless work you can do while distracted or doing something else.
