I can't use a keyboard for very long because my wrists start to hurt, so whenever I play an FPS on PC I always plug in a controller. Playing without aim assist is not that hard, and I have no idea why people say it's a necessity for console shooters

Exactly.... I have a 360 controller for my Steam games. Destiny is fun but that Sticky Reticule is set to the highest level I have seen in any game... It's why you can pull off headshot after headshot without hardly trying. It's why the enemy are bunched together and milling back and forward that your gun goes bonkers and you can't hit what you are aiming at. For example, earlier today I got a funny headshot... what was funny about it was I was aiming at a Knight about 10ft in front of me... then an Acolyte ran across in front of the Knight and it pulled my gun as I fired... and I killed a dreg with a headshot on the far side of the map.
