Examines thing on side

You spawn in a time machine. While flying through time and space a bomb slams through the side of the machine and begins counting down from 5:00. If the bomb detonates all of time and space will be torn apart. You pick up a screwdriver and examine the wires. [spoiler]see what I did there?[/spoiler]

Suddenly you awaken in the same machine. The bomb slams through the machine again. And you notice something different on the side. Do you examine the new thing on the side or do you pick a new wire?
