This is just great. I think one thing we have to question, and something that we all take for granted, is the role of the Traveler. It appears to have done a great deal for humanity. But why? I'm not sure the Traveler is a benevolent entity. It just seems too good to be true. And I don't think the writing is flawed. All this is intentional. I also think we are intentionally supposed to question the lack of drive in pursuing objectives. We resurrect, are told to go to point B, are told we are now Gaurdians, and continue forward. We need to question our role. I don't think Bungie is being vague. Lesser players might assume that there is no real story to this and mindlessly pursue their objectives. I'm calling it now: the lack of information is intentional.

  • In all my wandering through posts here, and the thinking I myself have done about the story/plot - this very simple yet elegant idea never occurred to me, nor have I seen it put forth anywhere. Brilliant, and very, very likely. Well done!

  • It is true what does the Traveller get out all this? Why us? And I have to admit having to play detective with the plot is more fun than TDM ;)

  • I just don't think we can take the Traveler's presence for granted. I think it is malevolent.

  • Well you arn't alone. I found this on the Destiny wiki: Binary Star Cult A heretical position from the Binary Star Cult states that the Traveler itself triggered the collapse, and used humanity as a sacrifice/proxy army in its war against the Darkness.
