Are the golden chests lvl specific, so if i open them a later lvl will i get better loot?

I have no idea. I got a pulse rifle from one when I was level 4 and it lasted me until I was lvl 8. The last chest opens a new Sparrow (so not class specific). I've only got one on the moon, but several guides have now cropped up online showing locations on earth, moon, Venus and Mars. I'll probably go chest hunting at weekend to find the other moons chests.
