Why does Linda have like 6 scopes poorly built onto her armor, why don't they have their guns up and act alert when they know someone dangerous is there, why do they walk single-file, why do they wait until Chief says "fire" to shoot Monologue-Didact? Because, comic book logic.

He hasn't used his restraint fields at all in Escalation right? Maybe they were damaged by the pulse grenade, or the unprotected slipspace jump, or the orbital drop for that matter. My point is he probably isn't in peak condition.

Well that's really the problem with anyone who has telekenesis. A hand wave should end the fight immediately but they just can't do that because then there'd be no plot. The Jedi should never lose a fight against non-Jedi for the same reason but they do anyway. It's just one of those conventions of sci-fi/fantasy you get used too ignoring after awhile.
