Lots of evidence that swords will be in game most enemy's have swords there was a leak a while back on a weekly update there is even a subclass about melee weapons so it could be a weapon type which bungie could of been keeping a big secret which they are well known for.

A subclass for melee combat seems pretty balanced but still closed ranged seems good at first till you see how man bullets are flying at you!!
