Technically Earth is a "geoid", not a perfect sphere (you know, because of terrain, and the fact that most of the landmass is in the northern hemisphere). Which literally means "Earth-shaped". Earth is shaped like itself.

You are technically correct. The best kind of correct! But I think most people (me included) would go by general shape from a reasonable distance and call it an oblate spheroid, would it be acceptable to do so?
