Ah, right on. I don't know much about fresh water tanks. I watched a buddy build and maintain a saltwater tank for a while though. Though I hear fresh water is considerably easier to set up and keep going. Best of luck!

I hope it is, I used distilled water to start it off. and added some tablets of PH buffering and conditioner and declorinator.

The up side to my buddy's tanks is that once you get the ecosystem dialed in, it pretty much maintains itself. But it's a touchy and temperamental ecosystem, and takes a while to establish. I'd like to start a tank and learn more about it.
