From the agent of nine you'll eventually through playing random events and getting gold or through leveling reputations get 9 strange coins to buy an exotic weapon. I had 7 already from playing in the Beta. Also exotics come easy if you lvl reputation of cryptarch a bunch. Granted I don't think these will be the best exotics that drop from VOGH.

id take a legendary from the cryptarch but exotics.. meh.. sounds cool though how there are so many ways. didnt know about the coin thing

Yea he is a vendor that periodically shows up at the tower. And edited to the values: 7 strange coins for an exotic wep/armor 10 glass shards for an exotic engram
