I have to admit, it took me awhile to convince myself that this isn't a troll thread. I'm not sure what your problem is - do you actually, seriously, believe that the vast majority of video game main characters should be male? Do you not care that the vast majority of female characters in video games are used as little more than a 'reward' or a cliched plot device (female character dies at start --> inspires revenge plot, female character is kidnapped at start --> inspires rescue plot, etc)? That female characters are often portrayed as wearing bikinis, shoes, and nothing more, even when they are supposed to be warriors, competing with male counterparts who are rocking full plate mail?
I don't even know where to start - nor do I care to bother. Suffice to say, we live in a market driven economy. Regardless of what actual percentage of gamers you think are female, it has been a rapidly growing demographic for years, and certainly makes up a material share of global games markets today. What you're seeing is female gamers who are clearly not satisfied with their utterly unrealistic, completely offensive, teen-boy's-wet-dream style of portrayal across the board - they have every right to make it known that they disapprove of this and will be less likely to purchase new games which portray women in this manner . This is a literal exact example of what you claim is vanishing - content being determined by what appeals to the people who purchase the games.
Your second to last paragraph (prior to the edit) seems to indicate a belief that games are only for men, and women should be excluded on that basis. I actually can't believe what I'm reading - somehow you've managed to create a more offensive and ignorant post than almost any other I've yet seen on this forum. Disappointing, yet somehow not surprising...

He never mentions this throughout his entire post.You say women are 'used as little more than a 'reward' or a cliched plot device', there are games that do this, but I'll also remind of the hundreds (if not thousands) of games that have been made where men are used for even less than a reward or plot device. Go and compare the amount of games that have women as a reward or plot device and the amount of games where hundreds upon hundreds of men are mindlessly slaughtered, tortured and used as throw away characters. Then you go on to say women wear bikinis and shoes while men have full armour plating and this is true for some games, but you don't see these same games zoom in a woman's boobs or ass and make sexual remarks. There are a lot more games that have both men and women on an equal footing, Destiny and Halo is a great example of this (you account picture is of master chief). That whole section where you talk about the percentage of women playing games is completely -blam!-ing pointless and almost irrelevant since you just regurgitated what Prowly said originally. You then say the way women are portrayed is unrealistic, well please explain to me with all your wisdom how men with super human strengths, speed, impossible body proportions and with close to no emotions, is a realistic portrayal of men? In your final demonstration of stupidity you state that Prowly believes video games are only for men and women should be excluded.You did not include any evidence as to why he would think this so that entire sentence is becomes invalid and can be considered an outright lie.
