I know you don't know me but please trust what I'm about to say. The r2 and l2 work fine. I think you're friends are pressing that button extra hard. Ive had mine for about 2 months and the analog are fine. I also heard about how the analog grips wear off so i went to amazon and bought analog grips that only cost a dollar. (It came with 4 they fit perfect and i love them) the only problem i have is that the battery life on them is horrible. Other than that the ds4 is awesome:)
