Nah, they pulled this shit when my buddy "bought" the Reach season pass from them. They really just sold him a $25 XBL credit and told him to go buy it himself.

That's not the point. The point is that it confirms the item exists. It doesn't matter if it's just a points card. They're advertising it as the item in question. Thus the item can be obtained.

Actually, the point is that no one at the studio, publisher or Microsoft has officially given any solid details on the availability of the DGE for either XB1 or 360. So this Gamestop link doesn't do anything to solve that, unfortunately. ESPECIALLY when their disclaimer is that this isn't the product you're buying from them, it's just XBL store credit.
