Is anyone else worried about CoD fanboys ruining Destiny?
I've always hated the Call of Duty community. It's full of Hackers, 7 year-old kids talking smack, and a lot of frustration. When I talked to them about their thoughts on Destiny, a lot said they would play it. Not to generalize the community as a whole, but I don't want my Destiny Crucible experience to be like a normal CoD BOII or Ghosts session. Anyone else feel the same?

1 ReplyNa the new CoD will come out and they'll all slink back to that, this has an actual story mode and a campaign that takes some work to get good weapons not just MP, most of those guys won't have the attention span for this game.

It was already full of children in the Beta, so don't get your hopes up. Besides, they've always been in the Halo series too. It's nothing new.

Nope don't care this game is a different beast and due to that this community can beat them all to a bloody pulp in the crucible forcing them to not return...

No because if they can't stand Destiny, they will quit and go back to cod. If they're still playing Destiny by the time COD Advanced Warfare comes out, then you know what's up.

Haha no i honestly don't think they will, no offense but they won't have the patience for non arcade-y mechanics that Destiny has and aren't really going to care for the deep meta the game has... Just try explaining what and why there is a super that doesn't require you to stack kills to get and can in an instant get you a multi-kill. Heads will roll, also Advanced Warfare is around the corner so you figure they can wait another month for it.

But luckily they'll move on to CODAW (Coda, which I call it as) Luckily for you, I actually gave up on COD and moved onto Battlefield where real players and gamers play with skills. Lol no QS or knifing sprees (unless you're the super stealthy type)

Nope as once AW is released they will drop destiny for that now what you really have to worry about are the flood (pun) of Halo players coming over (of which I'm one ;) )

I really doubt they will have the patience by and large to really get to a competitive level in the crucible. You aren't going to hit level 20 in any reasonable amount of time by just playing crucible all day. You'd quickly get out leveled by people who're playing PVE. Most COD players I've encountered lack the basic attention span for that. Plus, when the next COD comes out, they'll go running to it like the bunch of monosyllabic, profanity riding troglodytes the majority of them have shown themselves to be.

1 ReplyI wouldn't worry about the hackers,I've been told that Bungie lays down the Hammer with a mighty fist towards hackers and cheaters. As for CoD fanboys they won't play Destiny for long. CoD Advanced Warfare is dropping in Nov so most will leave and never be heard from again. I play CoD Bo2 as well. Nothing wrong with enjoying whatever game you like.

Well the average community is irritable yes. But I get along with the zombies and extinction players well and generally enjoy the campaign modes as well. Of course as op said it's the mp community that's worrysom mainly the hackers really.

I wonder if Halo players were angry when i came from playing on a PS2 Or CoD players angry when I was Halo jumping them Or Battlefield players angry when I aggressively rush the objective Will Destiny players be angry too... I think you would need to explain what your experience with Blops 2 and Ghosts was like before we can actually understand what you mean. Quick Scopers, Trolls hiding in the back of the map, Angry child... Destiny might not be the game for them. The time to kills is longer and its a bit harder to get a Faze montage going when there isnt crazy aim assist for sniper rifles.

Not only does it require you to carefully select your equipment but you must also decide on a build for your skills and upgrades. it requires a lot more dedication than just showing up as a team and learning the maps. I would lay a theory out there that players who played more Halo than CoD will do better and could find abusive combos/setups in Destiny. My line of thought is that Halo had more stuff to it than just your weapons and grenades. Abilities from Halo; like Armor Lock, Drop Shield, Evade, etc.; are similar in concept to the class abilities in Destiny. CoD has a different line of thought and doesn't have anything like that (so far). In Destiny, forgetting to choose the subclass that is better suited for a PVP match can be a deciding factor; something most CoD players may forget to do (said may, not will forget).

I say there's nothing to fear. Most of Bungies games are too long and complex for the average cod players brains handle. Plus they'll have there fix of regurgitated nonsense every year to keep them occupied.
