Is anyone else worried about CoD fanboys ruining Destiny?
I've always hated the Call of Duty community. It's full of Hackers, 7 year-old kids talking smack, and a lot of frustration. When I talked to them about their thoughts on Destiny, a lot said they would play it. Not to generalize the community as a whole, but I don't want my Destiny Crucible experience to be like a normal CoD BOII or Ghosts session. Anyone else feel the same?

I've got no worries. PvE will be fun no matter what and the Bungie community is pretty strong. The CoD fanboys will have Advanced (Titanfall) Warfare to play soon enough. They'll probably wig out when they figure out the leveling system and I doubt many of them will be able to coordinate enough for raids (kids anyway). As long as there is no friendly-fire trolling going on in PvE, then we'll be good. No one is going to ruin this game for us. Nobody.

I just mute those people, plus if you have friends on you can party chat, which allows you to talk and not hear anyone else.

Not worried about them in the slightest. They'll be mad that they can't 360 no scope a Cabal.

I think a lot of the controversial decisions made by bungie are done intentionally to keep those kinds of players away.

Yes and no. Sure CoD kids, hackers and racist assholes will come over to Destiny (because #hype) but people don't realize that there are good people in the CoD community. Don't get me wrong, most of the community (if you can call it that) are kids, (not really hackers) and assholes, but that's also the most prominent part of the community. For example, how do you think a lot of great Youtubers that you watch today started? Well most will trace back to CoD, and some still play it (Hutch still streams CoD), even if they play better games today. Anyways the TLDR is the good and bad will come to Destiny, from CoD...

I love cod.. I don't really mind the trash talk mostly because people who do end up getting smacked anyways.

Bottom line is there will always be annoying fanboys when playing any multiplayer game. Just have to ignore/ silence them and enjoy the game. If you want to interact with them (other than owning them in PvP) just jump on these forums lol.

1 ReplyNot really. They don't have much true arena shooter skill because ask they need to rely on is twitch skills. Throw a halo player into cod and he'll dominate. Throw a cod player into a halo game and they will be slaughtered. Not worried about them do much as their pathetic tactics. Cough cough 'camping' cough cough.

1 ReplyCOD Is all about reaction timing. Classes help but ultimately it is twitch skills that win. Destiny is very similar to halo in the sense that even if your the one at the disadvantage, your skill can overpower the other player and leave you on top. Again this is true of cod - but you have to be far superior to your opponent to make comebacks from major disadvantages. So overall - I say bring it! I like to root out campers in COD anyways.
