Is anyone else worried about CoD fanboys ruining Destiny?
I've always hated the Call of Duty community. It's full of Hackers, 7 year-old kids talking smack, and a lot of frustration. When I talked to them about their thoughts on Destiny, a lot said they would play it. Not to generalize the community as a whole, but I don't want my Destiny Crucible experience to be like a normal CoD BOII or Ghosts session. Anyone else feel the same?

Not really I have no problem with anyone playing the game and every community has it over the top personalities so I'm not bothered.

You can't chat with them unless they're on your friends list anyways so listening to assholes won't be an issue. Besides we don't have to worry about another community ruining the experience anyways because there's people already in this community that do that for them. I mean...Look at all the retarded threads that infest this forum.

Were going to be rid of them very fast. If they arent able to get a K/D of 2 with their unbelivable CoD godlike Skill Destiny will be a "noobgame" in their eyes anyway...............

1 ReplyYou don't have to worry. Well, you do have to worry. Advanced Warfare is going to be pretty horrible in terms of the Call of Duty experience. The hardcore CoDTards are going to stay, but the wavering guys are going to be "What's this...?" and move on to other things. Those things being Destiny and Halo. You don't really have to worry about seven year old kids talking crap, because they're going to get wrecked. They'll be expecting you to die after a few bullets, or a knife to the foot. You'll kill them, and they'll cry. A lot of them will try to do their 360 no scoping, and fail miserably, because hey. Those snipers have some nice recoil on them. There's nothing to worry about at all. If they want to be apart of the community, let them. But they will have to learn this is a different community with different standards. (Acceptable form of assholery is trolling on the forums.)

5 RepliesI enjoy CoD because of how tight the controls are and how beautiful the game looks in PvP running at 60 fps. I play a lot of shooters and yes, Destiny is very different from CoD, but anyone who dedicates a little bit of time to it will easily make the transition. I admit, I kinda sucked at first during beta, but after several matches I was improving quite a bit and Destiny is an awesome game, (minus the terrible 30 fps), so many will play it and get good at it. Get off your high horse because anyone can get good at anything and not only 7 year olds play CoD.

1 ReplyThere is nothing the CoD community can do to harm the Destiny community. It up to the player to decide whether or not to let other players get to them. Just like in these forums, there are plenty of troll threads that we have to see. All you have to do is just skip over them, and move onto the one that really interests you. The true players will just want to play and have fun with the game, no matter what it throws at us. We may run into players we may not agree with, but we just have to ignore them and continue to enjoy the game that we know we enjoy.

Nope not at all, the game is still different than cod, the elitist players prob stay in destiny PvP for long. Plus I think it will kinda be like bf4, where cod players were turned off by the objective gametypes rather than plane Jane deathmatch. Give destiny until after Xmas then it will really start to calm down and the community will balance out.

So with that and the fact that they can't camp, dual wield, prone, or sit in a corner with cold blooded, I say you or any of us have a thing to worry about. In fact they may even leave Destiny because of said reasons and bitch and moan on how the game sucks due to said reasons.

And we wonder why there is no in game chat. To be honest that is the smartest move- you don't have to listen to all the idiots talking smack. You are picking who to properly communicate with. Call of duty players, I mean the obnoxious players of Call of Duty, probably don't even know about this game or hate it immediately. And the ones that do aren't going to be the obnoxious COD players. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
