It appears to me "Strange Coin" might be the most valuable item in the Destiny universe.

Where did you get them?

You had to get a Gold level in a world event to get a Strange coin in the Alpha and Beta. You were able to get 1 per day.

I remember getting them from my first Public Event of the day.

I don't remmember to be honest... I did a shit load of farming for glimmer and vanguard rep one day. So it was either through the vanguards rewards, or the cryptograph rewards you get for leveling up. I'm pretty sure they were from the crypto now actually.. got a whole bunch of things like glass shards as well.

Seems you get it from "strange trinket" , which when turned into cryparch gives you the coin.

Looks like you give X amount of "Strange Coin" to Xûr "Agent of the Nine" and you get most of your exotic gear this way. Also most of the cryptograph exotic stuff is bought from him to- and he's limited on spawn.

He spawns every Friday at 9am to Sunday at 9am, the way it is set right now. Interesting... Still hope you can find exotic gear on bosses and in the world sometimes, but maybe this makes it rare- and having strange coin hard to get.

I think there is lots of new Legendary/Exotic gear what you can get from Strikes, Nightfall Strikes and Raids.
