I played the hell out of TOR, but thanks to EA the whole game is ruined.

I won't retread old ground, but let's just say that ruining Star Wars MMO's seems to be their publisher's way of operating. In EA's case it's not doing enough. In SOE's case it was doing too much.
-
Frankly I just don't trust EA anymore with anything.
-
You've got to give them credit for some things. Like the Mass Effect series. I always saw it as a bit of a gamble when they brought the first one out on consoles. I never would have thought EA would take the risk. But now I think Bioware should find another publisher before EA stab them in the back again.
-
You're giving them too much credit. The first Mass Effect was all Bioware and Microsoft. Who knows what could have happened if Microsoft had bought up Bioware and kept the IP exclusive? In an alternate timeline ME2 and ME3 are rich RPG's that perfect the vision Bioware had for the first Mass Effect.

It's too late, atleast for me. EA has effectively killed Bioware for me. ME3, DA2, Crippling TOR. It's in general bs. Them forcing Dice to push BF4 out of the door without being done. Pretty certain they caused Crysis 3 to be bunk.

Edited by YxolloxY: 8/14/2014 11:44:23 AM.... just wait for da:inquisition... it looks awesome so far... granted I'm possibly a bit to hyped about it; but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a great game again :P edit: Also I think the hatred ME3 receives is sorta unfair.. true the ending blows chunks.. but the rest of the game is pretty godzdamned brilliant.

Wasn't just ME like I said, it was the other Bioware games too

How so?

It launched with a lot of promises and tons of content. However since EA didn't hit the number it was expecting (some crazy made up figure) they gutted Bioware Austin effectively destroying the game for some. With it's limited work crews updates are slow to happen along with expansions and such. If they had their full original work force they would be a big competitor to WoW and wouldn't be free to play right now. To explain more of this for you, myself and others I knew hit a dead end with the original content. There was only so much end game and once done it just got a bit boring to be honest. Same thing happened to me for WoW, but they can release expansions every couple years or so. Bioware Austin doesn't have that anymore. PS: I really loved the game and it's story missions. It was so unlike anything i'd played before MMO wise.
-
I'm loving the content as well. The group conversations and the options for interacting with members blows me away. I'm looking forward to strongholds, but it seems strange that the expansions they did add were separate from the game. Starfighter is cool, but on its own it's merits are limited.
-
Yeah they will keep producing content, but the spacing on it is really hurting it. Hell even WoW is taking massive hits because of people leaving.
-
I'm thinking of trying the Secret World. You have any experience with that?
-
I've seen some gameplay but nothing more than that. My laptop isn't too great anymore so I can't run these newer games.
-
Ah. I finally broke down and built a custom amd machine. With the prices dropping I'm hitting crazy performance without going bankrupt. And for some reason I'm addicted to mmos.

MMO's are pretty awesome, but I can't run them on my graphical card anymore sadly. I got lucky I could run TOR before the graphics update that pretty much ended it for me.
