Small, medium, large. It's not hard and is done often in games similar to this. Add this feature already!
Aside from not having a character creation feature period, Destiny has the most lackluster character creation I've ever had the displeasure of using in any game ever. You can't even turn your character to see how goofy some of those heads and cosmetics make you look.

They stated in one of their videos that they don't want the player to spend an hour or two creating their character like in some other RPG type games. I can say, for myself, that the first time I played Skyrim I did just that. 2 hours creating my character. That was all the time I had to play that day. It was very discouraging. Every time I would think I got the character perfect there would be another section of creating for me to engage in. I am sure that you are very aware of the Skyrim character creation, so I won't go on, but you get my point, I think. While this may not happen to every player, I think they wanted the characters to be able to be customized to the point that they reasonably resemble the player without an hour of creation.

Edited by PapaCap: 8/9/2014 7:17:43 PMI agree, the Elder Scrolls series has a very, very extensive character creation screen. Customizing a character in the creation screen is one of my favorite things to do in games for some reason, maybe because it's like signing a piece of art or putting your signature touch on something. But even the Elder Scrolls was too much for me. In Skyrim you can tweak every aspect from how wide the nostrils are to how far the back of your characters head protrudes... wtf. Were only looking for something simple, like body proportions, being able to turn your character in the creation screen, maybe a wider variety of faces and cosmetics. When I first made an exo I thought it was going to be great! I was sorely mistaken, it took me roughly 7 attempts at creating an Exo to be content with my decision, and the only way of having a 360 degree view of your toon is to run through the entire first sequence and get to the Tower. In the end, the face and cosmetics I chose were the least desirable when I picked them on my 7th try, but once at the Tower I was pleasantly surprised. I'm still very disappointed with how big my Exo was with the Titans body, it looked awkward. I kept thinking, "What in the world does my robot need all of that bulk under the armor? He's not made of flesh and blood, it's all hydraulics and wires. Did they just stuff his suit with a bunch of cotton balls?" I wanted my Exo to have more of a Terminator frame when he was stripped down to his robot frame.

I understand. I would also like some more variety and features. Rotating would be great and I would be shocked if you can't rotate in the full release. Remember, it was a beta, they were trying out the basics. It wan't really intended so much as a sneak peak at the game, though it served that purpose, as much as to test out the equipment. As far as features, hair styles, facial hair, and MAYBE a minor height and width modification wouldn't be bad. But to be realistic, if the character creation even begins to resemble Skyrim a lot of people, myself amongst them, will feel a bit overwhelmed with how long it takes to just get into the first mission of the game. My guardian will end up looking a lot like whatever the base model unaltered guardian looks like.
