Hunger kills FAR more people. Idk why people are answering cancer.
Plus, solve world hunger and you get more doctors to help cure cancer

I think that the only difference between a continent like Africa and a country like the US is that Africa has no staple crop. We grow wheat and corn here in the US and in Europe. Asia has rice, but Africa has nothing. You can't advance as a civilization without food to fuel progress. It all goes back to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Food, sleep, and sex come first. Once that's covered, then comes shelter and security, and eventually more intellectual pursuits like medicine and science.
