Well atleast the series is not based on jons depression the last few seasons became to weird.

Really? I loved the last few seasons, Jon had some really good writing in there even though he channeled his depression through it which imo made it even stronger as a narrative.

It was great storytelling, no doubt.

The one thing that made me cringe was one when the toys both had cigarettes in there mouths while they were playing. >.<

Even though that was all great, I liked the happy episodes more. For example, WEDDING CRASH! The first one. Not the big scene with Claire.

Yeah, I've read some stuff about his life on his blog. I don't know everything, but I do know that he was depressed indeed. And he didn't even like the series that much. Only maybe 1 or 2 seasons he said. Poor guy. He does put a lot of work on his projects. Hope he makes it out well.
