This is an auto reply for I'm currently in stasis awaiting the launch of Destiny.
-
I was thinking of doing that, but moral of those episodes was to be patient.

Edited by Deadman Joaquin: 8/16/2014 7:17:30 AMRight I was going more for the Buck Rogers nostalgia tied into the Destiny launch hype. You know to try and bring a little levity but hey if ya wanna go literal and suck the fun out of it be my guest
Just my attempt at humor please take no offense

Actually the overarching moral was poking fun at the oversimplification of the idea that if we just eliminate religion all wars would cease. I happen to disagree with that assessment myself it may not eliminate all war but it would eliminate a lot of divisions in this world that leads to war.

And that's why I didn't go literal it sucks the fun out of everything
-
Interesting analysis. Yeah, I'm just trying to be patient. I don't think religion is the problem, just what people do with it.
-
True but how do you settle arguments in the interpretation of religious doctrine without the deity present? You can't soooooo.......... You can see where I'm going with this and humanity's history proves it to be true.
He'll never be present cause he/she doesn't exist IMHO anyways

This is why I avoid religious arguments I don't want to open a can of worms so just pray for me and leave it at that thanks
-
Misinterpretations of religion account for many arguments. Christians are called to simply love, not judge. Judging is a misunderstood self righteous point of view many have taken in attempts to "help" others. This is wrong. Only church members are allowed to keep each other on the straight and narrow path. If you aren't part of my chruch, I can't say a dang word to you about your behavior. That is for you to decide. We are simply meant to love and let that love shine as a beacon of hope to all others.
-
Not talking about judgement only weak minded fools care about the judgement of others. Petty arguments & gossip in a church isn't the kind of arguments of religious doctrine I'm talking about. Look at the list wars above all started because one or both sides believe they have GOD on their side. Ok I'm done.
If I offended anyone it's my humble opinion on the subject and if we disagree let's agree to disagree k Thanks
Edited by AristonSparta: 8/11/2014 10:54:19 PMThe problem is not letting each other live and let live. People will start wars over the stupidest of reasons. Trojan war for example. Having God on one's side is one thing, but then using that to go on a genocidal campaign is just insane. Judgment is not only for the weak minded, or it wouldn't have such a great impact upon the world. It has a greater effect that you know. I'm starting to fail on seeing what your argumentative point was in all this. I'm borderline confused actually.
-
Exactly.... Can't describe colors to the blind. That's why we should agree to disagree TL;DR version = Religion is the cause of most wars. & People shouldn't care about the judgement of others. K Thanks
-
Agreed. Tl;Dr we both agree, and laugh, knowing that there will always be a cause to war for some.
-
Edited by Deadman Joaquin: 8/11/2014 11:18:20 PMI'm not stating we shouldn't fight wars sometimes we must step in to stop or prevent genocide or protect those who cannot just that most of the wars of we've been in have had religious overtones. And the only judgement you should fight against are those in position of power who use their narrow religious beliefs to judge other because they believe they've god on their side. Luckily we have a constitution that allows us to defend ourselves against these kind of abuses. So again judgement by others in a community is only the concern of the weak minded IMHO. And newsflash if you need religion and the threat of eternal damnation to be a moral person than you've more issues than national geographic and probably should be locked up. Ok off of my soapbox I go It's been fun #SeeYouStarside

This is just my post script.....Thanks
