I don't understand. You people complain that you have to try to make something work. Bungie had made tools that you can chose to use to get a fireteam rooster setup. Example I have just started playing online on the ps3 I had zero friends prior to playing destiny. I have through the forums posting created a small list of destiny players who all want to raid. Before the game has even launched, I have done this. I think that people just "want" bungie to do things for them. Seriously if you have even played the beta you could have added a few fellow guardians to you're friends list. I believe there are forums for each console of players posting screen names to get to know each other and for raid roosters. I believe that bungie wants "you" the player to have to work and earn this. Which if you don't want to earn it is up to you. Is the social system prefect? No it was not in beta. Was I able to make friends, yes I was. Unless you don't know how to send a friend request that is on you. Maybe they could just make it so that you automatically are friends with everyone you ever meet in destiny so you don't have to do it for your self?

  • what if I eventually want to try and solo the raid. or like the company of randoms over my friends list? what if I prefer carrying a team of randoms on my back instead of carrying my friends as I always do? shouldn't I have that choice? I don't like to be grouped in the you have no skilz yyour random.considering there are ahats in every guild.sometimes that random is good or better than a guildmate.someone like me :)

  • That's the thing, raids aren't meant to be soloed. They are group activities that requires a team that can communicate to complete it. That is what this is designed to be. The arguments for match making try to make it seem as if getting a raiding party together will take half of their lives. If you've ever planned a birthday party for your kids or a friend, this is the same thing. If you've ever made plans to meet up with friends after work, this is the same thing. It will take a bit of effort on your part to get a team together, maybe you don't even have to you've got a friend that already takes the innovative and gets the group goin. Point is for all the effort that it takes the rewards will taste much sweeter.

  • You said yourself that you didn't make friends in the Beta, but on the forums. It isn't a feature in destiny.

Learn to read I did make friends in the beta, and I had a great time. This is how it happened : I was solo running in the crucible like normal, saw two players were in a fireteam played 5 games, with and against them. They did ok, felt like we could play good together, then sent them friend requests. They accepted and then invited me to their fireteam. Played more crucible and had fun. Hit up some strikes and ran explore missions built up alittle cohesion then played with a few of their friends, continued to have fun. I went out of my way to do this and I guess they must have been somewhat impressed with me gameplay to have accepted me. Regardless that was an example of how a meet some friends. Substitute crucible with strikes for PVE experience. I didn't think that using the friend request was a big deal. But I guess when you have to do anything for your self it is just too much right?

  • fits destiny's M.O. they want you to earn everything as much as possible. so, they made an area that requires players to go out and build a fire team, maybe in game. this creates social networks which the player is invested in, another goal bungie had for destiny. honestly im happy, its going to push me to make friends, which is great.
