i feel its pointless. there are already melee skills on a cd. why do you need swords when you have those

It's not a matter of need, but a matter of want.

well lemme rephrase why do you want swords when you have melee skills? do they not deal enough damage? are they not unique enough? are the CDs too long?

There's nothing wrong with the known melee skills-- I just think swords would be another awesome toy to play with in the full game.
