Nowhere in that article does Bungie say they will enable trading. Thank God.
Trading is stupid and opens the door to all kinds of problems. The biggest being RMT (or otherwise known as gold/item farmers/sellers)

The point is to prove that the idea was pondered and was in development. It could always return. Any bugs or balance issues can be met by Bungie. They wouldn't last.
