I believe this is false. The deal was made long before the PS4 was outselling the Xone.

Actually, Sony and Bungie have been working together long before the PS4 was even announced. Sony and Activision's partnership regarding exclusive Destiny content was much more recent.

Playstation is/was available in more markets globally than the Xbox One. Thus a larger global install base.

Well, the playstation brand has been outselling the Xbox for year internationally, and that is the position I am speaking from. I think people forget that the xbox 360 and PS3 still exist lol

This is true. Sony announced at E3 2013 after the Destiny stage demo that they have a long term agreement with Activision and Bungie to make Playstation the best place to play Destiny on. At that time period though M$ did have a lot of negative media due to their drm attempt. Everyone needs to get over it though. Playstation consoles will always be getting exclusive and early content for the entirety of the Destiny franchise, not just this one game.
