Because it was the end of the series. Reach was a prequel and there are no more Halo games.

How right you are. I completely agree, as far I'm concerned there is no more after Halo 3, that's the end of the whole story. I'm not going to acknowledge whatever 343i tries to pass off as Halo for anything other than what it is, extremely bad fanfiction :P

How was it the end of a series? The legendary ending implies there's going to be games after Halo 3 and in that game Bungie didn't put closer to anything besides Truth.
