This is B.net. Butthurt and complaining is what fuels this place. If you want to find decent people, try going somewhere classier, like NeoGaf.
try going somewhere classier, like NeoGaf
Please tell me you're kidding. NeoGAF is full of pretentious pseudo-intellectual hipster pricks operating under ridiculously authoritarian moderation and organisation. If there is any decent gaming forum on the internet, it sure as hell is not NeoGAF.

Edited by Inyaccurate: 7/4/2014 10:58:52 PMAdmittedly, it was a bit of a sarcastic jab at NeoGaf.

I know Bnet well, it does indeed. I'm generalizing about the entire gaming community. Every platform, every audience, every group, etc. I'm not singling out the Bungie community. :)

Edited by Inyaccurate: 7/4/2014 6:44:24 AMWell, the internet comprises a large part of the gaming community. As you may know, the internet is not a pretty place all of the time. I suppose we'll just have to endure the weeds in this field, hoping we can find a few flowers along the way.

The internet isnt often a pretty place, I have to agree

Edited by Inyaccurate: 7/4/2014 7:08:29 AMThat's right. It's got just as much bad as it does good, perhaps even more bad than good. It will make you laugh, and it will just as easily make you cry. It will make you enraged, and it will just as easily give you faith in Humanity. It will mentally scar you, and it will just as easily enlighten you. It's a bit overwhelming at times. However, you just need to know how to navigate it, avoiding all of the troublesome things as best you can. These things I've told you can be seen in this site alone, concentrated into an easily observable phenomena. Walk into #Support or #Community, or even #Bungie, and you will more than likely find decent people residing there, who are ready to assist you or join you in a game of whatever you may choose. However, if you step into #Gaming, you will find an abundance of trolls and arguments regarding the most rudimentary things. You also have #Destiny, which is just a combination of optimistic fans wishing to discuss certain topics and ideas, and some trolls who make leak out of #Gaming every now and again. Finally, you have #OffTopic, or rather the Flood. The Flood used to be a place where you could laugh until the early hours of the morning. This is no longer the case. The Flood simply consists of religious/political arguments (both of which were scarce on B.old, due to their being a bannable offense), and a few uninteresting news threads that usually devolve into arguments pertaining to, of course, politics and religion. That's not to mention the other various low quality threads that dwell there. The most toxic of all the forums on this site, no doubt.
-
How long have you been on Bungie.net? You mentioned a long history of the #OffTopic
-
I've only been on Bungie.net for about 4 years. The Flood was where I'd spend most of my time on this site, but now I frequent #Gaming. I'll occasionally pop into #Community, though. Yeah, a lot of good people left when Bungie changed the layout to their site. I'm mainly referring to the Flood forum, of course. Have a look here. Now these are some of the hilarious posts I was referring to. There were a great deal more, too. There were all sorts of high quality threads back in the day. Bungie really let the place go when they decided that they wouldn't enforce the rules any longer. I see no point in moderators here anymore. They want us to use the mute button, but that's basically like turning a deaf ear to a group of bickering children. Sometimes, you need to put someone in time-out to bring some order.
