Right now it's not much more than a tech demo. But basically I am developing an engine to render worlds in the same style that terraria uses. 2D minecraft.
Only I am designing it from the start to support massive worlds.
Right now I have 512 chunks lined up in a row.
Each chunk is 512x512 blocks.
Right now the worlds is shaped like a giant flat square. Because I haven't written any processes to generate a more interesting world.
But I just got a good idea for world generation. And that is to use cellular automata to build interesting shapes / structures in the world.
