Damn, is hating on Michael Bay the cool and edgy thing to do nowadays? Is he the new Shyamalan? *tips fedora* Bay produces escapism, nothing more. At least he doesn't try to be something he's not. If you want tryhard 2deep4u fedoracore shlock then crawl back to Nolan. Meanwhile, I'll keep on enjoying my 2 hour CGI spectacles. Also, he isn't "ruining" your childhood. Ruining your childhood would be Bay retconning the entire TMNT universe. Be thankful he isn't doing that.

  • Just because you didn't witness ww2, dosen't mean it didn't happen.

  • You enjoy your gay non-artistic CGI gay-athons and I will enjoy my deep and meaningful movies rather than an exploding motion picture with the depth of a kiddy's pool... that's been fully drained.

  • So just because he sticks to the same formula that makes it ok for him to produce shit movies? That makes no -blam!-ing sense.

  • Never said it was okay. Last I checked no one is forcing you at gunpoint to watch Bay movies. Is it really so -blam!-ing difficult to NOT watch them? Really, is that -blam!-ing strenuous for you guys?

  • You just seemed super mad using all these may mays to make fun of people who hate on Michael bay and I'm saying that there's good reasons to hate his movies.

  • Oh no doubt. I'm just getting sick of people grasping at the straws for things to complain about him, and expecting anything deeper than an action blockbuster from him. At this point if you're expecting the Next Citizen Kane from Bay then you're in for some bad news.

  • I don't care about Shyamalan's other works. What he did to the Avatar series, will forever make me hate him with the utmost passion. So...many...wrongs.

Yeah, screw us for wanting a good movie that isn't an explosion CGI jerk fest.

Oh, I'm sorry, you were expecting a complex, deep movie with a convoluted intriguing plot and a wide array of relatable characters from Michael Bay? You're watching the wrong kind of movies m8. I dunno about you, but I watch Bay's work for the visuals, not for the thematic narrative.

  •
Oh, I'm sorry, you were expecting a complex, deep movie with a convoluted intriguing plot and a wide array of relatable characters from Michael Bay?
It's not that we expect that from Bay. It's that he doesn't have them in his movies that we hate his movies and wish he would stop making them.

  • Or, you could just not watch them.

  • That's the plan. Thing is, people want to see good movies of these classic franchises (TMNT, Transformers) but then Michael Bay gets to them.

  • I kind of wish he could make films that aren't about some of my favourite things from childhood, because suddenly douchebags think Transformers is cool, and don't understand anything about it, but I still have to listen to the babble about how great they are. Also, Bay and Shyamalan have both always fallen under the category of "relies too heavily on a single technique"

  • Basically, they were both good starting off, but have now been relegated to Eternal B-Movie directors. Maybe a good popcorn flick at best.

  • Yay, more bs reasons to hate on Nolan. Why has Nolan become associated with fedora (When It used to be a term for describing "edgy atheists" or general beta men) just because he has a thing for making movies with a series tone.

I don't have a problem with Nolan. I'm just sick of his edgy fanboys thinking he's Kubrick 2.0 or the next cinema messiah.

  • He is the cinema messiah. He is better than Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick combined.

  • lel Excuse me for wanting a quality movie. 2fancy4u
I'm not hating on Bay because it's cool. I'm hating on Bay because he produces crap level escapism, and it's not even his own original idea. I liked The Island, that was a good movie. But now he just makes CGI explosion robot fest movies out of kids TV series/toy lines.
