The Reagan doctrine for how we go to war, is that you should have a consensus of the people. So there needs to be a full-throated debate. A full-throated debate in Congress, and Congress has to decide.
Just pointing out, Bush Jr. had the consensus of Congress and the Senate to invade Iraq, which is where this whole mess started in the first place. And Bush Sr.'s pullout after he told the Iraqi people to rise up against Saddam in Gulf War 1 didn't win the US any goodwill for Round 2.
Looking at the situation in Iraq, what would President Paul do?
Also, he didn't actually answer that question. There's some "we shoulda's", a few "we coulda's", one or two "don'ts", but not one "do".

    1. At least the people's representatives had a say. Whether their decision was right or not, is a different issue. 2. I think he's implying we shouldn't do much of anything. He's saying our involvement caused this mess, so why repeat it?
